bats dying at a great rate

Yikes, this is a scary story. Brown bats are dying of white nose fungus. In some caves they found 80-90% dead. And the bats act odd, coming out of hibernation early, and settling into rest in colder parts of the cave. They don’t know what is causing the problem, but the article said that it is a dire situation, that the brown bat could be extinct in 7-30 years here. And they think it’s too late for the east coast. The problem is spreading west. Check here for the Post-Gazette reporting.
