This recipe is the one that we use for a quick and DEE-licious chocolate pudding. It makes kind of a lot, so good to have some for the next day. It’s best if you can wait until it’s really chilled. Of course, doode and little doode are always saying–yum, but you know, what would be really great? It’d really be TERRIFIC excellent if you just added a bit of orange zest. Sigh, you just can’t win. But this basic recipe is most excellent just the way it is!!! Oh, and ok, the orange zest is a nice touch.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup baking cocoa
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Directions

  • In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt. gradually add milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Spoon into individual serving dishes. Chill. Yield: 6-8 servings.
