Ok, so the first catalogs have arrived, and seeing as how I managed to decimate my seed collection this year, I will need a complete redo!
For potatoes we like Wood Prairie Farm. They’re in Maine, and they’re organic, and a family thing. We’ve tried Red Cloud, Rose Gold, Butte, Russian Banana Fingerling. Yum, they’re all good. And they’ve all done well. We always need more though. This year we planted 3 pounds of seed. Last year we did two. Yields have been great!
For seeds I usually order something from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. They have a great collection of yummy stuff. We’ve loved the Gentilina lettuce (kid favorite), Dragon Tongue beans, Gray zucchini (pretty), and then the tomatoes. This year was a bust, but last year was amazing! Japanese Black Trifele was our favorite. Great flavor. We also had Brandywine, Black Krim, Marzano for sauce, and Pink Grapefruit (another favorite).
