here is an interesting video about poppy styles among the nations.

Living in the multicultural household that i do, I am sometimes called upon to explain certain “exotic” canadian things to the doode, and he tries to explain certain merican things to me–like the weirdo lever voting machine for instance. or football. or how having a week long thanksgiving in late november makes sense.

one of the questions came:  why the canucks wear the poppies? i don’t know they just do. memorial day in the US is just a summer party. victoria day is when we do that. veteran’s day we get no mail. but we do get mail on saturday. weird!

I came across this nice story about remembrance day poppies–this is one of those odd things that is very foreign to the doode!! He did get turned onto that other canadian iconic thing–the chip truck. and the kids are surely excited about learning about that one! more on that one next time. but thought you might enjoy this little video–funny stuff!
